The Technical Reality: Why Native Apps Fail When Powered Off

Leaving your phone searching for cellular towers drains battery in hours. With Outpost, you power down your device completely at the trailhead. Server-side companion sessions handle all inbound messages until you reach town.

HOW OUTPOST SOLVES IT: Outpost runs as a secure, authenticated cloud companion daemon. When your phone powers off, the cloud session remains active on Outpost's hardened server infrastructure. Incoming messages are processed according to your cooldown rules and rate-limits, sending calm return estimates without waking your physical phone.
