Hi! I'm currently traveling off-grid with my phone powered off and won't have regular access to Signal. I'll be back Sunday late afternoon. For urgent emergencies, please reach out to my primary emergency contact. Otherwise, I look forward to catching up when I return!

The Technical Reality: Why Native Apps Fail When Powered Off

Signal does not provide vacation auto-replies. Outpost links as a secondary device and executes rate-limited vacation replies so you can unplug without leaving important contacts wondering.

HOW OUTPOST SOLVES IT: Outpost runs as a secure, authenticated cloud companion daemon. When your phone powers off, the cloud session remains active on Outpost's hardened server infrastructure. Incoming messages are processed according to your cooldown rules and rate-limits, sending calm return estimates without waking your physical phone.
