Frequently Asked Questions
Does Outpost store my private messages?
Never. Outpost evaluates rules in memory when a message arrives. Once a decision is made to reply or suppress, the message body is immediately dropped. We store only a 40-character masked preview in your personal activity log so you can audit what occurred.
What stops auto-reply spam loops with other bots?
Outpost implements dual-guard backstops: a configurable per-contact cooldown (default 4 hours) and a hard daily cap of 3 auto-replies per contact. Even if an automated bot keeps pinging you, Outpost silences follow-ups.
What happens if someone has a real emergency?
Outpost rules support emergency keyword escalation (such as 'URGENT' or 'EMERGENCY'). When detected, Outpost bypasses cooldowns and can immediately dispatch an alert to your emergency contact email or secondary phone.
